Gokyo Lake Trekking is also one of the most common, popular and adventurous trekking routes of this region.
Gokyo Lake Trekking includes the visits to Lukla/Namche and adds an incredible hike to Gokyo lake. This trek gives you plenty of beautiful views of Everest and other nearby giants. The Gokyo lake area is surrounded by mountainous valleys, alpine lakes, and numerous glaciers. This trek is less crowded than others in the Everest region and takes 14 days to complete including travel to and from Kathmandu. This moderate to difficult trek reaches a high of 5000 meters. To top off this unique trek we climb Gokyo Ri (5360m) for a panoramic view of the greatest mountain scenery in the world including five giants and myrid other peaks of the Khumbu. This fabulous trekking offers exciting and breathtaking views of mountain and an insight into the lives of the Sherpa people and their old ages culturs and traditions.
Our journey begins from Kathmandu, the Capital of Nepal. We take an exciting mountain flight to Lukla from Kathmandu or drive to Jiri and start the journey up to the destination. We walk through the Dudh Kosi Valley which is surrounded by the soaring peaks of Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru. When we leave the valley the way is a steep ascent to Namche Bazaar - hub of the Khumbu Sherpas where we are again greeted by spectacular views of mountains. While a rest day here aids acclimatization there are great optional walks to enjoy the area. We then follow the trail to famous Tengboche which is situated on a high ridge. It is a place from where a magnificent sight of Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam and Kantega can be seen and this peaceful and spiritual location is surely one of the most tranquil and inspiring places in the world. While passing the way views of Everest get closer day by day. This eye-catching trek leads both Everest Base Camp(5310m) lap of Everest and Kala Pathar (5555m) where is the best recognised view-point to see Mount Everest. To be face to face with Mt Everest is a main goal of many adventurous walkers in this Everest Region.
